Sirota Named Finalist for Syracuse University Journalism Award
Sirota was named a finalist for the 2015 Mirror Award from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. The award honors reporters who “hold a mirror to their own industry for the public’s benefit.” Sirota’s was named a finalist specifically for his reporting on conflicts of interest at the Public Broadcasting Service. That reporting resulted in PBS station WNET returning a $3.5 million grant from a politically active billionaire.
